Peter Scudamore-Smith MW is one of Australia’s great winemakers and belongs to the elite order of “Masters of Wine”- an institution that dates back to 1953.
The Institute of Masters of Wine exists to promote the highest level of educational achievement for the wine industry, culminating in an internationally recognised and respected qualification, the Master of Wine, often referred to in its abbreviated form of MW.
Over 2,000 candidates have sat the examination. Since 1990, only 138 candidates have passed the examination and become Masters of Wine. Currently there are 74 MWs working outside the United Kingdom.
